Born and bred in Salvador, Bahia, Victor is a highly accomplished and versatile musician. Versed in Brazilian and Latin percussion and instruments including the Cavaquinho and acoustic guitar as well as being a proficient backing vocalist, music emanates from Victor’s soul.
Whilst living in Bahia, Victor performed with several bands such as Diginow, Super Samba, Rapazolla and various others playing to audiences of over 70,000 people. He has performed at the famous Bahia Carnaval to crowds of over a million people in the streets of Salvador. Victor has shared the stage with some of Brazil’s most renowned artists including Olodum, Timbalada, Psirico, Chiclete Com Banana, Magnificos, Jauperi, Avioes do Forro, Os Travessos, Edson Gomes and Capital Inicial. He also appeared on Brazilian television, radio, commercials, advertising campaigns and DVDs.
The passion and natural talent for music runs strongly in Victor’s blood and it is a gift he believes he inherited from his father. Having taught himself to play several different instruments from a young age, Victor also studied music at the University Federal in Salvador.
Alongside his prowess and passion for music, Victor is also a qualified Engineer. After studying Engineering at Area 1 University in Salvador, he worked for Ford Motors and as a production supervisor for Bomix.
Since arriving in Sydney in January 2014, Victor has been a principal performer with Rhythm Brazil and a freelance musician with various local bands. In addition to shows at major events, Victor has also appeared as an extra in the film Manny Lewis and on television commercials for products such as Rapid Loss.
With his wealth of experience as a musician and performing artist as well as his professional and easy going personality, Victor is a valuable member of the Rhythm Brazil ensemble.
